Dear Brothers of the Florida Federation of Alpha Chapters:

It is with great pleasure that I extend this 2008 District Conference Call invitation to the 1000+ brothers that call Florida, the Bahamas and the US Virgin Islands home. This year’s conference will convene October 10-12th, 2008 in Orlando, Florida. The brotherhood of the Delta Xi Lambda and Xi Iota chapters are working diligently to plan a fun-filled convention. We are excited that the Holiday Inn - UCF will serve as the host hotel with $99 room rates. This year’s conference will focus on level setting us as a District in terms of Alpha Phi Alpha’s Strategic Plan and our associated Operation Plan as we continue climbing the stairs of greatness. Across the District, we understand that Greatness is a life long Journey… and not simply a Destination. Therefore, it is indeed our humble responsibility to continue developing the next century of leadership within Florida, the Bahamas and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

It is also important to remember that we will begin the selection process for the 14th Florida District Director and our next Assistant District Director during our District Conference. Please remember that a Voteless People is a Hopeless People. Chapters need to make sure that your delegate strength is represented in Orlando.

Brothers, it is hard for me to believe that my tenure as your 13th District Director is quickly coming to an end. Four years ago I shared with you my vision for The Florida Difference. Standing on the solid ground built by the Florida District Directors that came before me, coupled with the brotherhood’s enthusiastic support, we’ve successfully climbed higher and higher; thus allowing Alpha’s light to shine brighter throughout our communities. Yet, there is no time to rest on our laurels. There is plenty of work still to be done! Our communities need our help; they need our leadership! They need Alpha Phi Alpha!
